While Oldfield’s intricate melodies shine, this album places a strong emphasis on rhythm, making it his most dynamic work to date. The music features repeating melodies in complex time signatures, driven by synth pipes, flutes, and tuned percussion, along with African-style drumming reminiscent of “Ommadawn”.
