Le duo composé de Teca Calazans et Ricardo Villas s’est formé en France et a joué un rôle important dans le paysage artistique de 1971 à 1981, se produisant dans plusieurs pays européens. Leur discographie comprend les albums “Musiques et chants du Brésil”, “Caminho das águas”, “Cadê o povo?”, “Desafio de viola” en collaboration avec Leonardo Ribeiro, et “Jardin exotique”. Notamment, ce dernier inclut la piste “Tive sim” de Cartola, avec la participation du compositeur à l’enregistrement. En 1979, le duo est retourné au Brésil pour ensuite sortir les albums “Povo daqui” et “Eu não sou dois” au début des années 1980. En 1996, une compilation intitulée “Best of Teca & Ricardo” a été publiée.
