This album marked the Alan Parsons Project’s debut and propelled them to instant success. Eric Wolfson, in a recent Classic Rock magazine interview, revealed that they chose Parsons’ name for the band due to his renowned status as Abbey Road’s top engineer, with Wolfson as the creative force. “Tales…” is unique in their catalog, with a notably lengthy orchestral piece on the second side, “The Fall of the House of Usher.” Unlike most APP albums, many tracks here are strong, featuring various guest vocalists.
