Le 1er octobre 1969, James Brown se produisit au Bell Auditorium d’Augusta avec l’intention d’enregistrer un album live. Cependant, le départ massif de musiciens perturba le plan. Près d’un an plus tard, le légendaire double album “Sex Machine” fut publié, comprenant partiellement des enregistrements de cette nuit-là. Aujourd’hui, pour son cinquantième anniversaire, l’intégralité de la soirée est publiée, présentant les 15 pistes et divers monologues. “Live At Home” capture l’orchestre exceptionnel de James Brown dans un cadre de concert intime à domicile. Malgré quelques choix étranges, l’excitation prédomine, notamment dans des morceaux comme “Mother Popcorn” et “Say it Loud-I’m Black And I’m Proud”.
