Spanish 1972 pressing. In 1972, Uriah Heep released “Demons And Wizards” and “The Magician’s Birthday,” two albums considered by many fans as the pinnacle of the group’s rich discography, despite being only two years old. The addition of Gary Thain and Lee Kerslake brought new creativity to the group, leading to lush melodies and powerful singing that stood out from the hard rock productions of the time. Each track on “Demons And Wizards” has its charm, alternating between fresh and scorching, calm and tempestuous, and introducing a symphonic and melodic hard rock style that opened up new horizons. Although a cult classic, “Demons And Wizards” dared to mix hard rock and symphonism, which was innovative for its time.
